The top articles for the February 14, 1963 edition of the paper included an announcement from the Scottsville-Allen County Industrial Foundation Inc., which explained that they had acquired two pieces of real estate adjacent and bordering Industrial Site 1, which had been purchased in November of 1962.

The addition added two acres of land, and 300 more feet of frontage on 31-E, with the original tract of land totaling 11.87 acres in two parcels.

Additionally, T.W. Crow & Son Funeral Home announced an expansion of the funeral home, with a local contractor having done the construction.

Construction was set to begin in early spring, 1964, and added approximately 7,000 square feet of floor space.

Additionally, L.P. Napier was named Allen County Campaign manager for Edward T. “Ned” Breathitt, who served as governor of Kentucky from 1963 to 1967.

The Citizen-Times, consolidated of The Citizen (1908) and Allen County Times (1890) on Oct. 10, 1918, has proudly served Scottsville and Allen County for 135 years.
