Russell Mills, owner of Mills Real Estate and Auction Company, was recently inducted into the Kentucky Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame.
Mills joins several auctioneers from throughout the state to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, after several years of being in the business.
“It’s very humbling to receive this award,” Mills said. “It was very surprising, and it was very humbling to receive this. A lot of great auctioneers have received this award before, and it was just very humbling they chose me to be a part of this group.”
Mills has been a part of the Kentucky Auctioneers Association since 1995, and was the Kentucky State Champion Auctioneer in 2004.

Surrounded by friends and family, Mills accepted the induction into the Kentucky Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame. Photo submitted.
Mills had previously served as the president of the Association in 2018, and has served on the board of directors for around seven to eight years.
Additionally, in 2014 and in 2024, the association selected Mills to be the auctioneer of the year in Kentucky.
“You’ve seen people over the years get inducted into that hall of fame, and you’ve always thought, ‘well, that would be a nice honor to receive,’” Mills recalled. “The surprise that they chose me this year, but it’s been a great honor to see people get that every year.”
Mills expressed that this induction would not be possible without the continued support of the clients that he serves and his staff.
“We worked for a lot of good customers, and we’ve got a great support staff that works with us all the time,” Mills explained. “My wife, who’s my business partner, she’s been a big part of being successful also. Above all, we give God all the glory for everything that He’s blessed us with.”
Mills explained that they plan to keep doing what they’ve been doing, and serve their clients the best way they can, and to get the results that they deserve while treating them fairly and honestly.
“(We plan to) keep doing the best job we can for our clients,” Mills added.
