James “Jim” Creek (1951 – 2026)

James “Jim” Creek, 74, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Frankfort.

Jim was born in Allen County, Ky., to the late Margaret Frances Beam and Joe Hugh Creek.

He was a member of the Church of the Annunciation.  He retired from Kentucky State Government as a supervisor of Bureau of Land Management, Division of Abandoned Mine Lands. He loved farming, deer hunting, loved the outdoors and enjoyed traveling.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepson, Rick Faust.

He is survived by his wife, Betty K. Creek of Shelbyville; his stepsons: Michael T. Faust (Dior) of Cohutta, Ga., Louis “Doug” Faust (Lynda) of Waddy; his stepdaughter, Dianna M. Parrish (Tod) of Paris; his sister, Julie Smithson (Denny); his brother, Jerry Creek (Cheryl), both of Scottsville; his grandchildren: Michael C. Faust, Norfolk, Va.; Ana Karen Faust, Virginia Beach, Va.;  Raymond Maurer, Cohutta, Ga.; Curtis Faust (Gabby) of Shelbyville; Alania Faust of Shelbyville; Lindsay Brumley (Craig Everman), Kelsey Brumley of Paris, Louis Chilton Faust (Kylie) of Charleston, S.C.; Jude, Rorick, Liam, Curtis, Arelia; his great grandchildren: Lyla Faust, Louis Tyler Faust, Elizabeth Everman; his nephews: Jeremy Creek (Emily), Josh Creek; his niece, Sarah Smithson and several great nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was noon Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Church of the Annunciation, 105 Main Street, Shelbyville, Ky.   Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 16 at the Shannon Funeral Home, 1124 Main Street, Shelbyville, Ky. Burial was in Frankfort Cemetery at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 17.
