Billy Ray Petty (1951 – 2025)

Billy Ray Petty, 73, of Scottsville, Ky., passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025 at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care.  The Scottsville native was a retired utility construction superintendent and member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a son of the late Jesse Wade “J. W.” Petty and Wana Lee Long Petty.

He is survived by his wife/partner of 53 years,Pamela G. Marlin Petty, Scottsville; one son,  Richey Ray Petty and wife, Laurie Ann, Scottsville; one daughter,  Wendy Renee Petty Woods and husband, Terry Joe (Groundhog), Scottsville; one brother-in-law,  Jim Cary, Shepherdsville, Ky.; one sister-in-law:  Judy Petty, Scottsville; four grandsons:  Austin Woods and fianceé, Trinity; Andrew Woods, Keagan Petty and Griffin Woods.

He was preceded in death by one brother,  Bobby Petty and one sister,  Tammy Cary.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Elvis Farley and Billy Joe Jackson officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. until funeral time Saturday.
