Sandra Louise Sullivan Lesnet (1945 – 2025)

Sandra Louise Sullivan Lesnet, 80, of Scottsville, Ky., passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Sandy was born March 3, 1945 in Scottsville to George Robert Sullivan and Marlie Ann Carter Sullivan. She was the fifth of the 11 children and the oldest girl.

Being raised on a farm with four older brothers and helping raise six younger siblings molded her into the strongest, nurturing and loving person that she was.

She graduated from Allen County High School in 1963 and moved to Indiana where she worked at Mary Janes Shoe Store. There she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Lesnet. They had their first date on March 8, 1965 and were married on September 11, 1965. In 1969, Bob and Sandy moved to Kalamazoo, Mich., then Omaha, Neb., and finally landed in Kansas City, Mo., where they made their home for 30 years.

Sandy worked as a waitress until 1990 but then decided to go to school to get her nursing degree. Serving others was her passion, and she poured her heart and soul into caring for her family and patients.

In 2001, Bob retired, and they returned “home” to Allen County. She loved being home and building their house, spending time with her brothers and sisters and farming. She worked at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care until she retired in 2007. The greatest joy in her life was family and, especially, her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Lesnet, Scottsville; one son, Rob Lesnet, Scottsville; one daughter, Jenny Clark and husband, Bill, Kansas City, Mo.; one sister: Marilyn Thomas, Bowling Green, Ky.; three brothers: Greg Sullivan (Debbie) and Phillip Sullivan (Tawana), all of Scottsville; Tim Sullivan (Sheila), Dallas, Texas; one sister-in-law: Elaine Sullivan, Lizton, Ind.; one brother-in-law: Pete Osborne, Scottsville; four grandchildren: Alex Lesnet, Rani Wiggins, Morgan West (Hunter) and Kyle Clark (Blake); one unborn great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Vonda Osborne; five brothers: Nolan (Mary Lou), Kenneth (Mary), Bobby (Jewell), Stanley (Geneva) and Johnny Sullivan; one brother-in-law: Jimmy Thomas.

Funeral service was noon Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Carter and Bro. Trey Harper officiating and burial in Old Macedonia Cemetery.
