Otis Jackson Whitfield (1939 – 2025)

Otis Jackson Whitfield, 85, of Scottsville, Ky., passed away Monday, March 31, 2025 at Hospice House in Bowling Green.

The Martin County, N.C. native was a retired employee of Lord Corporation, a member of White Plains Baptist Church and Scottsville Country Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed at Ft. Campbell the 101st Airborne Division and was a paratrooper having jumped 26 times. He was a son of the late Joe Aaron Whitfield and Annie Belle Holiday Whitfield.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vera Mae Whitfield, Scottsville; two daughters: Angie Anderson and husband, Donnie and Ginger Peay and husband, Shawn, all of Scottsville; one brother, Kenneth Whitfield, Robersonville, N.C.; four grandchildren: Drew Anderson (Caitlyn), Seth Peay (Elizabeth), Casey Cave (R.J.) and Sheldon Peay; four great grandchildren: Ava Peay, Addilyn Anderson, Charlotte Cave and Tate Peay.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Angela Whitfield.

Funeral service was be 1 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home with Dr. Phil Rogers, Bro. Gary Pierce and Cooper Guy officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow D.A.V. Chapter 20.
