Barbara Jean Rayburn (1935 – 2025)

Barbara Jean Rayburn, 90, of Scottsville, Ky., passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care. The Scottsville native was a homemaker and member of Cedar Cross Missionary Baptist Church where she joined at the age of 13.  She was a daughter of the late Lewis Davison Spencer and Ruth Ellen Wood Spencer and wife of the late Samuel Rayburn.

She is survived by three sons: David Humphrey (Jenna); Bruce Humphrey, all of Scottsville; Frank Rayburn, Clarksville; Scott’s fianceé, Linda Mundy, Portland, Tenn.; four grandchildren: Brandy Murley (Jeremy); Lily Rayburn, Huston Humphrey and Haley Humphrey Payne (Christian); two step granddaughters: Sarah Atchley and Crystal Miles; one great granddaughter, Harper Marie Payne.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Tony Humphrey and Scott Rayburn; two sisters: Mayme Kirk and Clara Eaton; five brothers: Wayne, Carl, Read, Charles and Neal Spencer.

Funeral service was 11 a.m. Thursday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Robby Calvert officiating and burial in Cedar Cross Cemetery.
