Bernis A. “Woody” Woodward (1940 – 2025)

Bernis A. “Woody” Woodward, 84, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19. He was born in Scottsville, Ky., the son of Aubrey and Clarice Woodward.

He was a United States Army veteran and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bernie D. Woodward; sister, Marie Garrett Dorsey; nephews, John C. Dorsey and Daniel Webb; and niece, Alice M. Woodward.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marcia; and his eight nieces and nephews.

His funeral service was Saturday, Aug. 23, at Highlands Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors was at Cave Hill Cemetery.
