Caleb A. Lawrence (1943 – 2026)

Caleb A. Lawrence, age 82, of Greenfield, Ind., passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at Greenfield Healthcare Center. He was born in Scottsville, Ky. on April 28, 1943 to Lewis Ray Sr. and Blanche May (Law) Lawrence. He graduated from Allen County High in Scottsville. Caleb married Wanda D. (Stinson) in 1961 in Gallatin, Tenn.

Caleb worked as a mechanic and owner of Lawrence Standard Service in Greenfield from 1968 to 1981 before beginning a long career in maintenance. He served as a Maintenance Foreman for CVS in Indianapolis, Ind., for 24 years, retiring in 2005. In his free time, Caleb enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, carpentry, tending to his yard, and spending time with his family. He especially loved traveling to Florida during the winter months.

Caleb is survived by his wife, Wanda Lawrence of Greenfield; children: Chris (Nancy) Lawrence of Springport, Ind., Lisa (Raymond) Evans of Wilkinson, Ind., and Sharon Dishong of Westfield, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and siblings: Joe Lawrence and Patricia White. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Blanche Lawrence; siblings: Travis Lawrence, James Lawrence, Mauren Johnston, Sue Walton, Lewis Lawrence and Glenn Lawrence; and great-grandson, Max Lawrence.

Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, Ind. 46140. A funeral service will take place following the visitation at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
