Larry Piper (1956 – 2025)

Larry Piper, 68, of Scottsville, Ky., passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. The Scottsville, Ky., native was a retired jailer of Allen County Detention Center for 14 years, a former supervisor at Allen County Transfer Station for 13 years, a member of Scottsville F.O.P Lodge no. 36, Barren River Fishing League, FTF, Kentucky Jailer’s Association and former member of Renegade Marine Twin Lake Division. He was a son of the late Carline Piper and Addie Evelyn Dalton Piper.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Piper, Scottsville; two daughters: Christy Renee Cornwell and Brandi Nicole Piper Cox (Joseph Henson), all of Scottsville; one son: Billy Clay Marsh (Angela), Scottsville; three brothers: Bud Piper, Wayne Piper and Donnie Piper (Faith), all of Scottsville; three sisters: Kathleen Stephens (Dave) and Barbara Scott (Billy Martin), all of Scottsville; Susie Williams (Arthur), Tipton, Ind.; a special brother: Don Stinson (Teresa), Scottsville; four grandchildren: Wesley Cornwell, Dillon Cornwell (Kenzie), Ethan Cox and Layten Marsh; one great grandchild: Piper Rae Cornwell and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Neal Piper; one sister, Betty Jo Brooks and one son-in-law, Richie Cornwell.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Tabor and Bro. Gary Pardue officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Russell Mills officiating.
