Vernon Eugene Tabor Sr. (1938 – 2025)

Vernon Eugene Tabor Sr., 86, of Portland, Tenn., passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025 at his residence. He was a son of the late Festus Otto Tabor and Mildred Marie Parsons Tabor.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Tabor Cheek, Scottsville, Ky.; a daughter-in-law, Gail Tabor, Scottsville; two brothers: Don Tabor, Wentzville, Mo., and Rich Tabor, Lebanon, Mo.; one sister, Linda Schiele, St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Elizabeth Renick Tabor; a son, Vernon Tabor Jr.; a daughter: Karen Tabor Horton and one brother: Jim Tabor.

Funeral service was 1 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Goad Funeral Home with Matt Pedigo officiating and burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery with Bro. Chuck Pruitt officiating. Graham Lodge no. 208 F&AM held masonic rites.
